The UAE offers visa-on-arrival to the nationals of 18 countries including Canada, Australia, Ireland, Singapore whereas nationals of 37 countries require no visa to enter the country such as Kuwait, Qatar, Switzerland, EU citizens etc. For all the countries that do not fall into any of the above two categories, there are different visa rules depending on nationality, gender and age. The people of Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Mauritius require a minimum age of 40 years to apply for the UAE visa while for other countries the age limit for applying for the visa is 21 years for men and 23 years for women. One needs to apply for the document at least 10 days before the travel date. The application for a pre-arranged visa can be applied online at emirates.com or at their embassy. One can also now simply download the DVPC Mobile App to apply for the visa. The citizens of Israel are not permitted to visit the country. The visa fee depends on the type and duration of visa required. The fee ranges from free to USD 586. The cancellation charge per visa is USD 41.

Visa Policy for Indians

As an Indian citizen, one needs to obtain a pre-arranged visa before travelling to the country. There are options of applying for Tourist, Visit and Transit Visa prior to your trip. As an Indian citizen, one can apply for visa for U.A.E online or at its centres present in various cities of India. For Visit visa for 14 days, the approximate fee is INR 6040 and while for 90 days Visit Visa approximately INR 12150. One can submit the application form along with fees online. An additional AED 1000 for health insurance policy is mandatory.

Visa for Indians - Fee & Requirements

For an India citizen applying for UAE visa following are the eligibility criterions one should take care of:
Indian citizen, once in the last five years, should have travelled to or should own a valid visa for the countries such as USA, UK, Schengen countries, European Union, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Canada, Switzerland and Japan.
Or
If criterion 1 is not met, the Indian citizen should attach below mentioned financial supporting document to support their application.
1. Income tax returns for last two years having minimum gross total income of Rs. 2 lakhs annually or,
2. Form 16 for last two years issued by the employer with annual salary of at least Rs. 2 lakhs or,
3. Investment documents in the form of post office deposits or bank fixed deposits aggregating to Rs. 5 lakhs
(All the above-mentioned documents should be at least one year old from the date of application. They should also be valid for at least another one year or more. Deposits made with Co-operative banks are not accepted.)
