December to March is the best time to visit Sri Lanka. During these winter months, Sri Lanka’s west coast, south coast and cultural triangle experience temperatures ranging between 22-30. Local Transportation in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has a well-connected transportation network covering road, rail and air. Local buses, tuk-tuks and metered taxis can be found at all cities, sizable towns and even remote villages, screeching past the island country’s highways every few minutes. A basic fare of Rs. 40-50 per km is the general rule of thumb for taxis, while bus rides cost Rs. 25 per km.

Visitors must have an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to arrival or on arrival to Sri Lanka. This rule is, however, exempted for Maldives, Seychelles and Singapore nationals and Indians and Russians having diplomatic or service passports.
