Chitwan National Park: Immerse yourself in Nepal's wildlife at Chitwan National Park. Experience thrilling jungle safaris, spot rhinos and Bengal tigers, and embrace the natural beauty of the Terai region.

Lumbini: As the birthplace of Lord Buddha, Lumbini holds immense spiritual significance. Visit the sacred Maya Devi Temple and explore the peaceful Lumbini Garden to delve into the roots of Buddhism.

Annapurna Circuit: For trekkers, the Annapurna Circuit is a paradise. Trek through diverse landscapes, from lush forests to high-altitude desert, and witness panoramic views of snow-capped peaks like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

Everest Base Camp: Embark on a legendary trek to Everest Base Camp, surrounded by the world's highest peaks. Experience Sherpa hospitality, pass through quaint villages, and stand in awe of the mighty Mount Everest.

Things to Do in Nepal

1. Visit the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu: Regarded as one of the oldest Hindu temples in Kathmandu, believed to be constructed as early as 400 CE, the Pashupatinath temple is considered one of Asia's four most religious sites and is a must-visit! The temple is nestled between the banks of the sacred Bagmati River, on the eastern fringes, attracting thousands of devotees of Lord Shiva from different parts of the world to come and admire the Jyotirlinga housed here.

2. Enjoy a boat ride in Phewa Lake: Known for amazing water sports in Pokhara, the Phewa Lake is the second largest lake and one of the most visited in Nepal. The lake enjoys a mesmerizing reflection of mountain peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges on its surface, centrally located Tal Barahi Temple, Sarangkot for paragliding and Ratna Mandir, a former Nepalese royal palace. You can take a turn to the eastern banks of the lake, also known as Baidam or Lakeside and enjoy the best tourist places in Nepal with hotels, lodges, restaurants, book and souvenir shops.

3. Zipline in Pokhara: Located in one of the most beautiful places, the heart of the Himalayas, the Zipline in Nepal is the longest, tallest and steepest zipline in the world, enjoying exhilarating views of the Annapurna mountain range at a speed of over 85 miles an hour. If you have a knack for adventure activities, this is something you cannot miss!

4. Undertake a hike to the Peace Stupa in Pokhara: The iconic Peace Pagoda, also known as the Shanti Stupa, is a popular attraction and a striking landmark, perched on the Anadu Hill, featuring an aesthetic backdrop of the Annapurna mountain range while overlooking the Phewa Lake. In addition, there are many trekking trails that the visitors climb to explore the serene beauty of the Himalayas or drive by, capturing the mesmerizing views.

5. Do some river rafting in the Trishuli River: Enjoy the most enthralling river rafting, one of Nepal's most popular outdoor activities. The Trishuli river runs parallel to the east-west Prithvi Highway between Kathmandu and Pokhara, offering ideal and exciting rapids, perfect for an adventurous time. The rafters can also sight native and migrant birds, beautiful rock formations and scenic views along the river. The stretch between Charaudi and Mugling has several riverside camps for the full experience!

6. Take an elephant safari in Chitwan National Park: Revel in the rich flora and fauna of the beautiful Chitwan National Park, placed on the foothills of the Himalayas in a river valley basin, which is also the last surviving example of the natural ecosystems of the Terai region. The park is characterized by lush vegetation, dense forests, steep hills and is home to one of the last remaining populations of the single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger. You can also visit Bikram Baba at Kasara and Balmiki Ashram in Tribeni, the Hindu pilgrimage sites.

Why to Buy Nepal Tour Packages?

Buying a Nepal tour package is crucial for any traveler, especially those planning to explore the diverse landscapes and cultural richness of this Himalayan nation. Considering the challenges mentioned earlier, let's delve into the reasons why purchasing a Nepal tour package is essential:

Expert Guidance and Local Knowledge: Nepal tour packages come with experienced guides who possess in-depth knowledge about the country's geography, culture, and history. They can provide valuable insights during treks, city tours, and visits to cultural landmarks. For example, a guide can narrate the significance of sacred sites like Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, enriching the travel experience.

Safety and Security: Nepal's rugged terrain and remote areas may pose risks, especially for trekkers and adventure enthusiasts. Tour packages prioritize the safety of travelers and take necessary precautions, such as providing trained guides and well-equipped support staff. For instance, during a trek to the Annapurna Base Camp, tour operators ensure proper acclimatization and emergency measures in case of adverse weather conditions.

Smooth Logistics and Permit Handling: Obtaining permits for certain trekking regions or restricted areas can be complex and time-consuming. Nepal tour packages include handling permits and paperwork, saving travelers the hassle and ensuring they have the necessary documents to explore specific regions, like Upper Mustang or Manaslu.

Acclimatization and Gradual Ascents: Nepal is famous for its high-altitude treks, which can expose travelers to altitude-related challenges. Tour packages often include gradual ascents, allowing travelers to acclimatize properly and reduce the risk of altitude sickness. This is particularly crucial during challenging treks to Everest Base Camp or the Annapurna Circuit.

Cultural Immersion: Nepal's rich cultural heritage and diverse ethnic communities make it a fascinating destination for cultural immersion. Tour packages may include visits to local villages, interactions with indigenous communities, and opportunities to participate in traditional festivals. For example, travelers may experience the vibrant Tihar festival, also known as the festival of lights.

Stress-Free Planning and Accommodations: Planning a Nepal trip independently can be overwhelming, especially for first-time visitors. Tour packages take care of all logistics, including transportation, accommodations, and activities, ensuring a stress-free and well-organized journey. Pre-arranged accommodations range from comfortable city hotels to cozy lodges during treks, offering a pleasant stay experience.

By purchasing a Nepal tour package, travelers can benefit from expert guidance, safety measures, seamless logistics, cultural immersion, and stress-free planning. These advantages help travelers overcome the challenges and ensure a rewarding and unforgettable experience in the majestic landscapes and vibrant culture of Nepal.

Shopping in Nepal

Wrap the beautiful and vibrant culture of this amazing country and take it home with you from the markets of Kathmandu and Pokhara. These lively marketplaces sell a colourful array of products ranging from handicrafts, intricately carved wooden sculptures, pottery items, brass wares, and delicate rice paper products like writing pads, bound journals, calendars and lampshades.

If you are looking for souvenirs, go for Thangka Paintings - Tibetan Buddhist paintings on cotton/silk applique, mounted with textile and covered with silk, or locally made Nepalese Ethnic Jewelry, a centuries-old art. You can also buy Pashmina shawls which are extremely warm and soft and are also one of the most popular products in Nepal, perfect for gifting to your close ones back home! Other items to look for include Singing Bowls that make entrancing sounds and vibrations when rubbed with a small wooden stick on their rim in a circular motion, Khukuri - The Gurkha knife, Hemp bags and Tea.

Some of the best shopping places in Nepal are -

  • Thamel, Kathmandu, the centre of the tourist industry,
  • Boudha Stupa Market, Kathmandu, the perfect place to buy Thangka paintings, singing bowls and prayer flags,
  • New Road, Kathmandu, catering to budget travellers,
  • Asan Market, Kathmandu, a very old market located close to the Annapurna temple,
  • Pottery Square and Durbar Square, Bhaktapur, a shopping hub famous for handicrafts and pottery,
  • Mahendrapul Bazar, Pokhara has a mix of several street shops and nice malls.

Food in Nepal

With a careful pick of the ethnic diversity in Nepal, the traditional Nepalese cuisines and flavours will leave you in awe as you go through these fantastic blends to tantalize your taste buds! The local dishes with a hint of Tibetan, Chinese and Indian cultures makes it a worthwhile experience for all the foodies visiting. The most popular foods are Momos and Thukpa, but the food is not limited to only that. Newari food is popular in urban regions like Kathmandu. At the same time, sparse agriculture Tibetan Thukpa and meat are the specialities of the mountainous regions, also holding importance in the country's cultural festivals.

The must-try dishes of the country include -

  • Sel Roti - blend of a doughnut and a bagel
  • Gundruk - the national dish of Nepal
  • Samya Bhaji - a gourmet delight and one of the main attractions
  • Yomari - a fish-shaped winter delicacy
  • Wo - Newari Pancakes made with ground lentil batter
  • Choila - a typical Newari dish made with water buffalo meat
  • Dal Bhat - the famous staple food of Nepal
  • Gorkhali Lamb - a curry dish which is prepared by slow-cooking the lamb
  • Everest Beer - the local beer of Nepal.

Best Time to Visit Nepal

The best time to visit Nepal is from October to December. However, it also depends a lot on the kind of activity or the places within the country that one hopes to explore. The autumn months of October and November is touted as the best time for trekkers who are rewarded with clear skies and breathtaking views.

The next best time to visit Nepal is in the spring season from March-April. The rhododendrons are in bloom, and the temperatures are warm, yet not scorching hot. For those wishing a vacation in Kathmandu and low-lying areas, the winter months are ideal.
